While we can practically guarantee that it won't snow, the possibility of high winds, fog, or temperatures in the 70's do exist. Just how possible? Local meteorologist and volunteer observer Dr. Robert J. Renard has been tracking the weather on the central coast for many years and offers the following history of the weather conditions at the Big Sur Marathon.

As you can see, we've had cold, heat, winds, an earthquake and fog...but usually the weather is just about perfect.  And what can you expect this year?

The prediction for "normal" conditions is....

Probability of rain 16%
Temp range 46º to 64º
Max gust 21 mph
Chance of fog, late night into daylight 27%

So "in general" expect early morning fog, usually clearing by noon, cool temps at the Start, a moderate headwind and just about perfect running conditions. But...if Mother Nature decides to change things, well, keep in mind that weather is just a prediction till it happens.

The current forecast updated Saturday, April 26th at 4:00PM is....

SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 60S TO LOWER 80S. WEST WINDS
