Big Sur events attract a caliber of participants who are dedicated, motivated, educated, and concerned about health and fitness. A recent Running USA survey found that on average 68.5% of runners are married, 92.1% have a college education and 60.2% have an income greater than $100,000.

- High income - 69% over $75K in household income (includes 31% over $150K HHI)
- Employment - 57% in professional, managerial or administrative positions
- Well educated - 93% have a college or graduate school degree
