Runnng events are great vehicles for charities to raise much needed money for their cause.  Set a target goal...and then maybe exceed it!  Your efforts can make a big difference.  Running for a charity will help bring awareness of that charity to the public eye, which in turn helps raise their profile.

$ A Reason for Running

When the weather makes training something you'd rather not do, knowing that a charity is relying on you will give you incentive to get out the door and start running! Completing a marathon is an amazing feat...raising funds for charity at the same time will make your race truly memorable.

$ A Personal Goal

Charities offer tremendous support and back-up to ensure that you get to the start line in the first place.  You are running for them; and they will work for you in return.  Your charity will keep you informed about all yu need to know for race weekend and answer all your questions.  This is also a great way to meet and then run with like minded runners.  Enjoy a special camaraderie on race day, it will put an extra spring into your step.

$ The Marathon Achievement

To be able to say that you have run a marathon is a great motivator, particularly when it is one of the nation's top three marathons and "best destination" marathon.  Add the knowledge that you are helping a charity raise much needed funds should only intensify this pride in accomplishment.
