BIG SUR INTERNATIONAL MARATHON FEATURES A VARIETY OF MUSICAL GROUPS FOR EVERY MILE OF THE MARATHON
Carmel, CA (April 19, 2004) -- In keeping with the tradition of a showcase of musical talent from the Monterey region, the Big Sur International Marathon announces the wide variety of musical groups that will be performing on the course on Sunday, April 25, 2004.
"We are delighted with the wonderful music lineup this year!" remarked Janet Lesniak, Board member and Music Director for the Marathon. "It is an outstanding mix of classical, jazz, and worldbeat and more played by popular local players, including Bruce Forman's Jazzmasters, Andrea's Fault, and I Cantori."
The groups that will be performing and their locations on the Marathon course are as follows:

The Big Sur International Marathon, voted the Best Marathon in North America by the Ultimate Guide to Marathons, is held the last Sunday in April. Set along one of the most breath-taking courses in the world, this spectacular road race also gets high marks for its degree of difficulty. Over 4,000 athletes begin this race on Highway One in Big Sur and finish in Carmel. Along the way, runners wind their way through majestic redwoods and Pacific Ocean views. Classical music greets marathoners around each turn, providing inspiration that has been likened to a spiritual experience. This year's race will be held on Sunday, April 25
