"Dear Endurance Junkies...welcome to the third annual Boston 2 Big Sur coast-to-coast challenge!  I'm glad to be returning as the official host of the back-to-back marathon extravaganza!  Last year I was running across the country from California to New York City and had to miss the event.  It certainly feels good to be back on the beautiful Big Sur coastline.  Good luck in your training and preparation for this ultimate test of stamina and perseverance!" ~ Dean Karnazes

The 2012 Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge is now sold out.

Only the fittest (or craziest!) ever attempt back-to-back marathons...much less 3,000 miles apart. 2012 will mark the Third Presentation of the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge and we will welcome 400 of the world's fittest athletes to participate in two of the world's greatest marathons.

All B2B participants will receive the following:

• A Boston 2 Big Sur ASICS jacket (will be distributed in the B2B finish tent along with the B2B medallion)
• A Boston 2 Big Sur ASICS training shirt in gender specific sizing, with either a long or short sleeve option
• A custom participant bib and finisher's medallion
• Access to a special B2B refreshment finish tent in Big Sur's Marathon Village
• An entry to the Big Sur post race party to be held Sunday evening
• Awards to the top five male and female participants based on their combined Boston and Big Sur times

• If you sign up for the challenge, you must also be an offficial entrant in the Boston Marathon. You can register for Boston either through your qualifying time or through one of their charity programs.
• You must submit your Boston results via email to sally@bsim.org within five days of having finished Boston.
• If you register for B2B, but are unable to run Boston, and still wish to run Big Sur, we will downgrade you to the open marathon and refund you for the B2B jacket. Other types of cancellations will be looked at on a case by case basis.
