Headquarters for the Marathon is in Monterey, 110 miles south of San Francisco, 400 miles north of Los Angeles. You can fly directly into Monterey Airport; other airport options include San Jose, (70 miles away), San Francisco and Oakland (110 miles). The Monterey Marriott is the headquarters hotel for the 2009 Big Sur International Marathon events, the location of Saturday's Pasta Party and located across the street from the Expo. The Marriott features 341 total guestrooms, many with bay views. Specially discounted room rates have been secured at the Monterey Marriott as follows:
All reservations at the Marriott must be at least a two-night minimum stay. To reserve a room, please click on the link shown above for either a standard or bayview room. A deposit equal to one night's room and tax will be charged for each reservation on April 20, 2010. Any cancellations after this date will forfeit this one night deposit.
