The April 25th 3K will start on Wave Street, between Irving and Prescott Streets, one block up from Cannery Row. 

The 3K will finish on Cannery Row, just past Bubba Gump, at the Steinbeck Plaza.  Post-race festivities will take place at Steinbeck Plaza.

The 3K will begin in three "waves".  The first wave will consist of open (non-school participant) 3K runners.  The second wave will consist of the Schools' Competition participants age 12 and over.  The final wave will consist of Schools' Competition participants age 11 and younger along with their parents and friends who chose this category.  Participant bibs will be color coded to accomodate these waves.  Anyway with a child in a stroller or a dog on a leash should plan in starting with the third wave.

The course will proceed along Oceanview Blvd. in Pacific Grove and head west until reaching Lover's Point Park.  At this time, runners will turn right, and then right again on to the Recreation Trail.  They will then head east back to the finish on Cannery Row.

Registered participants may pick up their bib, event shirt and Aquarium pass at the Health & Fitness Expo on the Friday before the event.  Hours are noon to 6:00 PM. The Expo is located in the Monterey Conference Center next to the Portola Hotel & Spa in downtown Monterey. There is also race morning pick-up beginning at 6:30 AM near the start of the 3K.

Parking will be available in the Cannery Row Parking Garage.  The entrance is on Foam Street (2 blocks above Cannery Row), right before Prescott Avenue.  Buses bringing children to the Schools' Competition may park on Foam Street, between Prescott and David Avenue.

Must be five years of age or older and in good health to participate.  This is a non-competitive fun run and is not timed.

Online registration is provided by Active.com.  You may register ONLINE via the registration link or you may download and print a PAPER ENTRY FORM that can be mailed to our office.  You may also call the Big Sur office at 831.625.6226 to request a form or email sally@bsim.org.  If you are registering for the Schools Competition, you must register through your School Coordinator. Registration forms for the Schools' Competition are due no later than March 12.  After this date we invite you to register in the open 3K; you'll still be able to run with your classmates and friends.

There will be race morning registration for the 3K near the start from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM.

Monterey County school children are invited to participate in the Schools' Competition which is an opportunity to raise money for their school. Prizes are awarded FIVE DEEP in four categories:
    
Highest percentage of enrollment for schools of 250 or more
Highest percentage of enrollment for schools of less than 250
Highest number of participants for schools of 250 or more
Highest number of participants for schools of less than 250

Only those schools participating in the JUST RUN program are eligible for prize money.
Amount of prize money to be determined

Following the 3K, there will be fun activities and music in the Steinbeck Plaza at the finish on Cannery Row.  There will also be a random drawing for some great prizes (must be present to win).

At 9:30 AM, awards for the winners of the Schools' Competition (the April event only!) will be presented.
